My presentation - Reggae Reggae Sauce

The presentation was a great challenge to me on today! I relieved my stressful feeling that within a week finally. What I gained from this experience are totally out of my border. Because I won't never practice my speech in the public bus, that makes people thought I was crazy! Practice as many as I can in front of the mirror and repeat the same sentence to make sure my pronunciation, tone and voice were correct. Although I have prepare a lot before my presentation. However, something has still missing. I was worry about my analyze is accurate enough or not. Does my audience understand my analyze? Was my post too odd and unnatural? My expression was on right the way? To compare another team member. I think they were doing really great on their presentation.

Nevertheless, I was enjoy the process from the research to the final result. In which, I've observe what kind of page design would attach audience attention. What kind of question will the audience get interest or ask about. Such as the distribution, how to maintain the consumer keep interest on the product etc...

Anyway, more important project and group discussion is coming on. I will do my best in order to reach my IELTS score 6.5 and get ready on my main course " MA Design Management ".

My Culture Shock

I think "Culture Shock" doesn't appear to my vocabulary since I arrived to London, I had experienced many great and bad moments and had to adapt myself to a new life style, food and interact with people of different mindset.
Many of my friends felt surprised but happy for me that I resigned my job and come to study and live London. Most chinese might think foreign countries are more attractive than their own country, and they are curious about foreign life.  However, the fact doesn't as prefect as what they think. Everything is different, for instance, not speaking the language, not knowing how to use banking machines, not knowing how to use the telephone, the people works inefficient etc.
Beside of that, in school. One thing I feel that student study mode in the UK are not the same as they were in Macau. In Macau the students hesitate to ask or to answer questions in class because they don't want to lose their face in showing their ignorance in front of the class, and sometimes because their English is not good enough etc. But at here, I can feel the teachers are more encourage students to speak more and ask more. They have patient to listen to student's speaking and respect the student's opinion. Maybe we are international students, they should do that.
Having say that, London is still have many attractive way to let us to explore around. Art gallery, Museum and music festival etc. As mentioned previously,"My culture shock" is an expression that doesn't appear on my vocabulary because I believe that we have to manage ourselves to adapt different environment and to accept it as a fact of life in order to be competitive individuals in this globalize world.
I wish I would be on independence stage in the later and get a well prepare on my main course in the near further. God bless me!

The "Ways of Seeing"

At last week, Our class has watched a series of documentary about “ The ways of seeing”. Although each documentary were just a 5 to 10 minuets, yet it is great influential video, the whole documentary confronts several important aspect of art. The video compares the art history relating to Publicity in Ways of Seeing. He explains oil paintings concerning class, race, gender and ethnicity. They under the same philosophy but in difference direction. Then, he discussed how publicity used the concept, idea, positioning and models of the oil painting which to apply the products itself. This process were transform the result is enviable. This state of being envied constituted glamour. Glamour can not exit without personal social envy being a common and widespread emotion. Publicity change our life, our thinking, lack of money means lack of glamours, faceless, non existence and inadequate. Publicity urging each of us to buy more, have that product, have that live. All it does want to each one of us that we are not enviable enough – yet could be.

At last, The documentary shows argues the incoherence contents page of the magazine. The juxtaposition of images was not planned. What we need to realize is what such contrasts reveal about the nature of publicity.

The video of “Ways of Seeing” is an extremely valuable documentary, which offer great insight into artwork, particularly the differences between photographs and oil paintings. The critical analyze of culture, values of traditional. All let us to see the world with new eyes to greater understanding of the image around them. Eventually, The relation between what we see and what we know is never settled.
